MCB grieves with US and Iraqi Ambassadors

The Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain, Sir Iqbal Sacranie, has today written to the Ambassadors of both the United States of America and Iraq conveying the condolences of British Muslims regarding the tragedies that have afflicted their nations.
`We are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of life caused by the hurricane on the Southern coast of the USA. In addition, today has brought news of the deaths of at least 600 people in a stampede during a religious festival in Baghdad, Iraq. We extend our heartfelt prayers and condolences to the Government and people of Iraq’, said Sir Iqbal.

The Muslim Council of Britain has undertaken to mobilize all its affiliate emergency agencies, including Muslim Aid, Islamic Relief, Muslim Hands and other relief agencies, to render assistance to the survivors and their relatives.
