The Muslim Council of Britain urges all members of the House of Commons and House of Lords to vote tonight against the establishment of super-casinos and 16 regional casinos in the UK.
“It seems rather strange that the government believes it can somehow help regenerate poor and deprived areas by promoting more gambling amongst its inhabitants. We are deeply concerned at the possible social impact of the government’s planned expansion of casinos in the UK and we hope that members of both Houses of Parliament will vote according to their conscience tonight,” said Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain.[ENDS]
