British Muslims Offer Condolences to People of India over Mumbai Killings

12 Jul 2006

The Muslim Council of Britain sends its deepest condolences to the government and people of India following yesterday’s series of bomb explosions on the train network in Mumbai.

`There can never be any justification whatsoever for the indiscriminate killing of civilians. We urge the Indian government to open an urgent inquiry into these incidents. Whoever may have planned and perpetrated these evil acts – we hope that the Indian authorities are able to apprehend them speedily and bring them to justice. Those responsible for these murderous explosions stand condemned in the eyes of all civilised people. We hope and pray that the families of those killed and injured yesterday are somehow able to recover from these devastating and cowardly terrorist attacks,’ said Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain.
